VISUAL IDENTITY

älgånäs gård

Älgånäs Gård, one of Sweden’s few bison farms, had built a loyal following through Facebook, but when owner Nicklas dreamed of launching a "Bison Camp," he realized they needed a website for the first time. The site would be crucial for handling bookings and expanding their reach. The challenge was creating a platform that balanced the farm’s rustic charm with modern functionality, all while being easy for both the team and their customers to use.

fritidsbanken

Fritidsbanken is a Swedish nonprofit that offers free borrowing of sports and outdoor equipment, promoting active lifestyles and sustainability. Since its launch in 2013, it has expanded to over 40% of Swedish municipalities. This case explores the rebranding process, focusing on overcoming stigmas, revitalizing the visual identity, and developing a strategy to engage a wider audience, all while staying true to Fritidsbanken's mission of making sports and recreation accessible to everyone.

links'up golf

With more people taking up golf, especially after Covid, there's a need for an app that helps players easily connect and find others to play with. Links'Up aims to meet that need, offering a platform where golfers can build connections, join games, and enhance the social side of the sport. But how do you design a solution that makes finding golf partners effortless while creating a sense of community?

marguerite´s

Discover the hidden gem of Lillängshamnen – Marguerite’s charcuterie and deli. Known for its exceptional quality, same-day catering, and a constantly evolving selection of delicious products. This cozy harbor-side shop is a must-visit. But behind the welcoming genuine atmosphere of Mark and Anna-Malin Hagen lies a digital presence that doesn’t yet do justice to their high-end craftsmanship. With a new website and campaign video in the works, Marguerite’s is set to bring their exceptional in-store experience to the online world.

food´n mood

At Food'n Mood, a startup in Jönköping, three childhood friends are blending their passions to create a unique pizza-bar experience. Serving Neapolitan-style pizzas, local craft beers, and hosting live music and stand-up comedy, they aim to build an unforgettable atmosphere. The challenge? Designing a website that captures their bold, DIY punk-skate vibe while allowing seamless online ordering, table bookings, and ticket sales.

about

me as a
designer

I'm Johan. I'm currently in my second year to become a Digital Designer at Brobygrafiska design school. What motivates me and fuels my passion for digital design is the combination of strategy, problem-solving, and the analysis of human behavior. I’m all about the iterative process—because who doesn’t love a good round of tweaking and improving? I’m also the type who loves figuring out why things work... or don’t work, and that curiosity drives my ambition to keep getting better.

Being able to participate in the process of creating and optimizing the best possible user experience is something I find both enjoyable and rewarding. I'm a team player, and therefore it inspires me working with other creative and passionate individuals. Something that’s especially important to me is being a good friend and a great colleague. For me, it’s also important that the team has fun together, so if you want someone who brings both energy and results, I'm your go-to!

My first internship was wonderful — 12 weeks at Happy Republic, a communications agency specialized in B2B marketing. I was a part of the daily work and participated in projects and workshops. I had the opportunity to host a workshop in Spline, where I explained how I thought they (Happy Republic) - could enhance their web design services using the tool.

I got a call from the ranch owner, Nicklas. He had a dream to grow his business and needed some help. I’m not a fairy, but I definitely helped his dream come true! Check out the Älgånäs Gård Case to see what I helped them with.

education

2023 was the year I discovered that I want to work with design. I started studying at Brobygrafiska design school as I thought that would be my best shot at making it happen. That was the start of me figuring out what a portfolio is, and that Drop-Shadows actually can be overused... Yup, I learned it the hard way, but I needed to here it, so thank you Jonatan (my very honest teacher).

Here are a few kind words from people who’ve worked with me — highlighting not only my skills as a designer but also who I am as a person. Their words mean the world to me, and I’m excited to share their thoughts with you!

Annika Hultin Karlsson

Digital Designer | Happy Republic

" Johan did his internship with us at Happy Republic from April 15 to June 28, 2024. As his supervisor, we worked closely together, and I can highly recommend him for future clients, colleagues, and workplaces!

Johan always came to work with positive energy and immediately fit into the team!

One of Johan’s most notable qualities is his strong drive to constantly learn new things and develop himself. He showed great interest in new techniques, tools, and working methods, and was always eager to deepen his knowledge.

He approached all tasks with thoroughness and delivered them with high quality, while always meeting deadlines. When we discussed design decisions, Johan always had a well-thought-out justification behind his choices, and it was evident that he took his assignments seriously. He worked independently on his projects, and during feedback sessions, he was always open, which led to great discussions.

In short – Johan is a structured, ambitious, and incredibly great guy, who will be a valuable asset to any project or work environment he finds himself in. "

Nicklas Boquist

CEO | Södra Älgånäs Gård AB

“ We are happy we hired Johan to build our website and are very pleased with the result. Johan always delivered on time and what he promised. He understood the feeling we wanted to convey and recognized the unique needs of our business. It was very easy to collaborate with Johan, and he was very receptive to our ideas and wishes.

Sleek, professional, and easygoing—highly recommend Johan! ”

" I would gladly go to a really bad place with you, you're dutiful and loyal. It's like you have an on and off switch that you know exactly when to press. When it's off, you're funny and easygoing, and when it's on, you're fully focused on the situation. Enjoy this Pettersson, Im not going to say it again! "
